Japanese Bookbinding

Join master bookbinder and conservator Gerald Ward of Bibliopathologist for a series of engaging, hands-on bookbinding workshops designed for both beginners and experienced makers. Whether you’re new to bookbinding or looking to refine your skills, these workshops will explore historical and contemporary techniques through guided instruction and practical application.

All necessary tools and materials will be provided, though participants are welcome to bring their own decorative materials for customization.

Japanese Bookbinding: Explore traditional Japanese stab binding, one of the oldest non-Western bookbinding methods. In this hands-on session, you’ll create a stunning Japanese stab-bound journal using decorative papers and thread. COST: $75
