Bibliopathologist is Gerald Ward, a passionate bookbinder, conservator, and educator dedicated to the book arts. This site showcases his endeavors in bookbinding, book arts, and workshops designed to inspire creativity and preserve the rich history of the book. Gerald’s work explores the intersection of bookbinding, the history of the book, printing, book design, and the craft of creating historical and contemporary media objects.

Gerald holds a B.A. in English and a Master’s in Library and Information Science. As a seasoned book and paper conservator, he managed large regional conservation labs for over 18 years, focusing on the preservation of rare books and historical records.

Currently, he serves as the Librarian, Media & Digital Services at High Point University, where he combines his technical skills and teaching experience to engage students in the world of book arts, design, and history.
